Rencontres Caf’contes : the first week-end in September Come and escape for a week-end in the company of these poets in words and pictures. From tales told in French, Breton or Gallo, via stories in sign language, the third ear will guide young and old towards the land of imagination in the different cafés of Kreiz Breizh during the first week-end of September.
Raconteurs from all directions, wandering musicians, jam sessions, ‘balades burlesques’, musical rambles, and workshops ... tales translated into sign language; performances for young and old. The festival is free; voluntary contributions welcome.

Festival Fisel: the last week-end in August

The new edition of the Festival Fisel can best be understood as defining culture and the fisel dance as a way of life. The traditional and the modern thus mould the character, which is strong already, of one of the most important events in the Rostrenen area, which welcomes 6000 people every year. On the programme: dance lessons, conferences, exhibitions, musical rambles, street theatre, gouren (the Breton art of fighting), cabaret, walks, fest-deiz (day festivals of dancing), fest noz (night festivals of dancing), concerts, competitions and performances of dance, lessons in fisel dances ...
Catering on site, shops and restaurants close by. Camping is free on the Kenropers site, chambres d’hotes (B and B) and gites (self catering accommodation) are available at Rostrenen.

Rencontres Internationales de la Clarinette Populaire: Ascension week-end

This festival is a meeting of musicians from all countries centred on the clarinette and the local tradition. It consists of concerts, cabarets, a ball, a meal, musical aperitifs, musical walks, Fest Noz (night festival of dancing), cinema, exhibitions, competitions, children’s events ... discover ... clarinette competitions, musical rambles, musical aperitifs, concerts, workshops. Catering on site, shops and restaurants are close by.
Camping is available on site, chambres d’hotes (B and B) and gites (self catering accommodation) can be found at Glomel.

Farm Stays for Children

Francois Salliou and Hamida Boukais welcome you to their farm, situated in an area of woods and valleys, 4km from the Toul Goulic gorge, beside the GR341 (chemin de grande randonnée - long distance footpath), 30km South of Guingamp and 12km from Rostrenen. The Trémargat farm offers you week-ends of trekking on foot or by pony. Full-board accommodation consists of 1 soirée crepe (pancake supper), 1 night, 1 petit déjeuner (breakfast), 1 picnic. Groups of 15 to 25 people are welcome by prior arrangement.

Children’s stays touch on the following themes: natural history, the farm, what we throw away. On the farm you will discover: cows, sheep, pigs, bee-hives, breeding riding ponies; making bread, honey, butter ...

Catherine and Wulfran Duco Landoas welcome you to their ferme pédagogique (farm for children) ‘les lutineries’ (lutin - elf, sprite, goblin) at St Nicodème, which covers 27 hectares at the heart of a protected nature reserve, close to the Korong Gorge and the Locarn Moors.

By taking part in the daily life of the farm, people are encouraged to take an interest in the agricultural world and thus the whole of the natural world, and to become more responsible; activities include: feeding and looking after the animals (cows, sheep, goats, horses ...); activities under cover in the huge children’s greenhouse and garden, lutinerie (elf-land), cabin village, trekking on foot and by pony, expressing oneself ...

Various different formulas are proposed: school parties; holidays or week-ends on the farm for individuals and groups; overnight stays and day visits on a theme for groups.

Aujourd’hui, les chemins de halages livrent toute leur histoire et leur nature aux randonneurs à pied, à vélo ou à cheval et aux pêcheurs. Venez vous-même apprécier la tranquillité et l’authenticité qu’offre le canal.

A vélo sur l’ancienne voie de chemin de fer

De Carhaix- Plouguer à St Meen Le Grand, cette ancienne voie ferrée construite au XIXème siècle pour dynamiser l’économie locale, poursuit sa mission en invitant les randonneurs à la découverte de l’Argoat. Dans un paysage de bocage vallonné se succèdent plusieurs villages et sites patrimoniaux inattendus qui témoignent de la riche activité et de la splendeur de la Bretagne intérieure : l’aqueduc gallo-romain de Carhaix, le plus long de France, l’Abbaye cistercienne de Bon Repos...
Les flâneurs pourront également quitter régulièrement la voie verte pour parcourir sur des petites routes tranquilles des boucles jalonnées de 5 à 15km.

Pour garantir le meilleur accueil aux randonneurs sur cette voie, différents types d’hébergements (hôtels, chambres d’hôtes, rando-gîtes...) se sont engagés à offrir un certain nombre de services spécifiques.
