Erosion has shaped our landscapes in the Kreiz Breizh, thanks to the rivers that have produced numerous granite chaos formations.

Granite, a natural material known for its strength, cracks easily when faced with sudden changes in temperature or soil movements. Over millions of years, the water then does its work until it forms large granite balls on top of each other, under which the water flows.

Depending on the flow of the water and the time of year, you can feel the water's power or calm.

Following the paths, you can walk along its chaos formations.

The waterways create a special atmosphere that is full of legends and sensations. The fresh air of the water flowing under the stones, the cold or hot contact of the granite depending on its exposure to the sun, the deep valleys in which the chaos has made its nest... so many atmospheres to feel in the heart of Brittany.

The Corong gorges, the Toul Goulic chaos, the Doré valley and the Daoulas gorges are all natural wonders to be discovered during a walk.

Often close to the moors that you can also visit, here are some nice ideas for hiking!

• The gorges du Corong, in Locarn/St-Nicodème
  

  In the heart of the Locarn moors, the path runs through magnificent and varied landscapes and offers incredible views. You will cross the Gorges du Corong following the signposted path.
  Covering the river Follezou, it is said that the chaos was formed here following the passage of the Breton legendary giant Boudédé, in the valley, who freed his boots from the small stones that were in his way.
  
  Departure point: Parking du Quellennec, Locarn. 6 km.
  Or more direct access to the gorges from a car park located at Saint-Nicodème.

• The gorges de Toul Goulic, in Lanrivain
  

  In the heart of a forested valley, the chaos of the Toul Toulic gorges plunges you into a darker atmosphere. The river Blavet runs here and disappears for 300 metres under the rocky chaos. The Blavet, a river of pure waters, is home to pearl mussels and otters.

• The Vallée du Doré, in Plouguernével
  

  Here the river Cordy has carved out its bed in the valley, forming granite balls thanks to the force of the watercourse. Depending on the season and previous rainfall, your walk will be quiet or very noisy!
  The path is not signposted, but you can follow the stream from one bridge to the next and back again.

• Les gorges du Daoulas, Bon-Repos-sur-Blavet
  

  On the edge of the Liscuis moors, this hike brings together the two complementary aspects of Kreiz Breizh: the moors and the gorges. On a shistose ridge, the moorland site is home to a set of three covered walkways dating from the Neolithic period. The path offers views of Bon-Repos Abbey, the Quénécan forest and the steep rocks of the Daoulas valley.
